UK Parliament Week 2025
UK Parliament Week 2025

This year’s UK Parliament Week is coming up soon! From the 24th to 30th November, UK Parliament Week is raising awareness of what Parliament is, what it does, and how everyone can get involved in our democracy.

Last year UK Parliament Week reached 2.4 million people, engaging over 2.1 million school-aged children in discussions about Parliament’s role and work. It was brilliant to visit several schools across Luton South and South Bedfordshire to discuss Parliament and my role as an MP with students, and I look forward to doing so again!

It’s more important now than ever before that we educate young people about our democracy and ensure they know how to have their voices heard on the issues that are important to them, given the welcome confirmation of plans to extend voting rights to sixteen-year-olds.

School and other community groups that sign up for this year’s Parliament Week will be sent a kit packed with resources to help plan activities and spark discussion. There are so many ways to engage including holding debates, quizzes, votes, themed assemblies, school council elections, and more!

Those that sign up are invited to get in touch with my office by emailing [email protected] so I can support activities in any way possible. This could be by attending schools for an assembly or Q&A, providing a video message, or answering written questions from students.
