On my return to Parliament today I visited the National Covid Memorial Wall. A mural of hearts painted by volunteers to commemorate the 150,000 lives lost to the Covid-19 pandemic. A memorial to ensure that questions are answered and lessons learned.
The PM today announced a public inquiry into the handling of the pandemic. It must be open, transparent and thoroughly independent, and must have the trust and confidence of bereaved families.
